Meessen De Clercq

Meessen De Clercq is a contemporary art gallery in Brussels, Belgium. The gallery is established in a 20th-century building with three floors.

In 2007, art historian Olivier Meessen and art enthusiast Jan De Clercq began to work to launch a contemporary art gallery in Brussels. In April 2008 the gallery opened, with a group show of site specific works by seven artists. After this first exhibition, the gallery temporarily closed for refurbishment. From September 2008 the gallery re-opened with group and solo shows by both established and new artists.

As of 2015 Meessen De Clercq had held 58 solo exhibitions, 11 group shows and 25 Wunderkammer projects, and published eleven publications, some of which were first monographies for artists. The gallery participated in 34 international fairs, including Art Basel, Frieze New York and FIAC.
