The station was opened in 2004 as part of VTA's Capitol light rail extension.
McKee station is located in the median of North Capitol Avenue, just north of McKee Road in San Jose, California.
VTA Bus Routes 31 and 81 no longer serve this station due to bus service updates implemented on January 14, 2008.
