Max Kaminsky


Max Kaminsky (April 19, 1912 in Niagara Falls, Ontario – May 5, 1961) was a professional ice hockey player. Kaminsky played the center position. Kaminsky played four seasons in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins, St. Louis Eagles and Montreal Maroons. Following his retirement he was the longtime coach for the Pittsburgh Hornets until the team disbanded from 1957-1961 at which point he moved on to lead the St. Catharines Teepees to the Memorial Cup in 1960 before dying of cancer later that year. The Ontario Hockey League's defenceman of the year award is named the Max Kaminsky Trophy in his honour.
