Matthew "Matt" Done (born 22 July 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for League One club Sheffield United.
In his 11-year-long playing career, Done has previously played for Wrexham, Hereford United, Rochdale, Barnsley and Hibernian. After returning to Rochdale, in which he did impressively in his second spell, he signed for Sheffield United in February 2015.
Born in Oswestry, England, Done, however, has no Welsh roots. Done attended the Marches School and Technology College in his home town of Oswestry.
Done started his career at Wrexham through the Centre of Excellence in July 2004 and after progressing through the ranks at the club, he was called up to the first team in the wake of the club’s financial trouble. His debut came a month after his 17th birthday, as a substitute in a home defeat to Doncaster Rovers. He made his full debut on the last day of the season against Darlington. At the end of the 2005–06 season, in which saw him make six appearances, mostly a handful of substitute appearances, Done was offered a professional contract by the club, in which he signed it.
Then, Done broke into the first team squad at the start of the 2006–07 season and his first goal for Wrexham came against Grimsby Town, and he went on to score against Sheffield Wednesday during a 4–1 win in the League Cup. Although he appeared as unused substitute bench on seven occasions, but suffered an ankle injury, Done finished the 2006–07 season, making thirty–eight appearances and scoring two times in all competitions.
