Mark Dolan (born 17 March 1974) is an English comedian, writer, and television presenter.
Dolan was born in Camden, London. He attended the University of Edinburgh and performed in the acclaimed improvisational comedy troupe The Improverts.

Best known as host of Channel 4’s iconic comedy series Balls of Steel, Dolan also fronted three series (12 x 1 hour eps) of globetrotting documentaries for C4 (The World’s …and me) - in which he met the most extraordinary people on the planet, including the smallest man, tallest woman, richest teenager, cleverest child and the owner of the world’s largest breasts. A well-received book followed, The World’s Most Extraordinary People and Me, published by Harper Collins. A follow-up edition, “Do You Mind If I Put My Hand On It” was released two years later.
Mark’s first big break came with the C4 hidden camera comedy series The Richard Taylor Interviews, in which he starred as a lunatic boss, interviewing unsuspecting candidates for a fictional position in his company. Mark also hosted the Mad Bad Ad Show for C4 with Micky Flanagan as team captain, and spent five years at Sky 1 hosting their flagship film show 35mm.
Mark also launched both E4 and More 4, fronting new shows for each channel. For E4 he presented the comedy programme Show Me The Funny and for More 4, the late night topical chat show The Last Word, the very first show to air on that channel.
Mark began his career as a stand-up in 2000, reaching the final of the stand-up competition So You Think You’re Funny. Since then he has performed stand up all over the world, appeared for ten years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and is fresh from a sell-out run of his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show Life Hacks.
Mark began in the media via radio and in the mid 90s, where he cut his teeth as a radio producer at talkRADIO, talkSPORT, BBC Radio 5 Live and LBC. In February 2014 he returned to the medium, fronting a topical comedy show entitled Mark Dolan Eats The News, which is now streamed across multiple platforms, including Fubar Radio and Audioboom. Mark also recently appeared in the Channel 4 web series Taxi Gags, featuring comedians telling gags in the back of a black taxi.
Last year Dolan participated in and won Celebrity Come Dine With Me, beating fellow competitor Shaun Rider with a three bird roast and plum duff pudding. After that, he co-hosted the TV comedy panel show If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World for TLC.
He is set to star in a new comedy series for Channel 5 entitled The Funny Thing About, and recently partnered with Gaby Roslin for a co-hosting stint on The Saturday Show. He has about to return to the world of documentaries, recording an exclusive series for US giant Audible, entitled Mark Dolan’s VIP Lounge, in which he will meet, among others, a lady who eat bricks, a human mermaid, a real life Vampire hunter and a teenager who thinks he has cured cancer.
