Mark David Bright (born December 22, 1959 in Longview, Texas) is an American country music producer, songwriter, and publishing company executive based in Nashville. Bright has produced recordings by artists including Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Shakira, Reba McEntire, Sara Evans, and Scotty McCreery. In 1993, Arista Records president Tim Dubois gave Bright his first producing job with the band BlackHawk, which subsequently sold over four million albums. The multi-platinum sales success of Blackhawk albums led to Brights' producing 13 more albums for them yielding two number one singles and nine top ten singles. Bright developed, produced, managed, and published country super group Rascal Flatts. He produced Sara Evans' number one hit "A Real Fine Place to Start" as well as McEntire' longest running #1 "Consider Me Gone".
Bright has produced Carrie Underwood's music throughout her recording career.Underwood has resulted in 21 number one hits including "Jesus, Take the Wheel", "Before He Cheats", "Cowboy Casanova", "Blown Away", "Something in the Water", and "Church Bells". He produced Underwood’s NBC Sunday Night Football intro/theme song the last four years running, as well as producing her Billboard Country Album of The Decade (Some Hearts). Cumulatively, Bright’s production work has resulted in over 86 million units sold worldwide. Bright has also worked with Sting, Randy Travis, Keith Urban, Allen Menken, Peter Cetera, Jo Dee Messina, The Isaacs, Lonestar, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, and Steven Tyler.
