Marco Mastrofini

Marco Mastrofini (1763–1845), Italian priest, philosopher and mathematician.

In 1834 he offered to create the World and "eternal" calendar and has shown, that its invariance can be achieved only by application of special days” that not be days of week or month. Marco Mastrofini offered to establish a calendar year in 364 days, in 52 full seven-day weeks, and to place 365th day of a year at the end of December of each year, considering it special or out of week.

He planned one more special day in a leap year and to place it in the middle of a year, between the last day of June and the first day of July or behind the first special day.

His work significantly influenced the Armelin's calendar and calendar reform proposal by Auguste Comte in 1849.
