Manx Gaelic Society

The Manx Gaelic Society (Manx: Yn Çheshaght Ghailckagh), later known as the Manx Language Society, was founded in 1899 in the Isle of Man to promote the Manx language. The group's motto was Gyn çhengey, gyn çheer ("Without language, without country").

The group's first president was A.W. Moore, later Speaker of the House of Keys.

During the 1950s the group put great effort into recording the remaining speakers of the Manx language.

A stamp celebrating the centenary of the Society was issued in the Isle of Man in 1999.
