Malayalam Encyclopaedia

Malayalam Encyclopedia is a reference encyclopedia in the Malayalam language. It is a project run by the Government of Kerala to create a comprehensive encyclopedia. The project is called Sarvavijnanakosam and is maintained by the State Institute of Encyclopaedic Publications. A web edition of the project is available on their official website. It consists of more than 7000 articles in Malayalam and is using the engine to manage the project.

A translated version of Britannica Concise Encyclopædia was published by DC books. While it won an award from the Federation of Indian Publishers in 2004, a Consumer Court banned the sale of the book because it was found to be an erroneous reference with many factual errors. The court also found that there was unfair trade practice on the part of the publishers, which are DC Books, Kerala and Encyclopædia Britannica India Pvt.Ltd, a subsidiary of Encyclopædia Britannica Inc.
