Make Way for the Motherlode is the debut studio album by American West Coast hip hop recording artist Yo-Yo. The album was released on March 19, 1991, on Atco/East West America/Atlantic Records and featured production by Ice Cube, Sir Jinx and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. The album did very well on the Billboard charts, peaking at #74 on the Billboard 200 and #5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Two singles were released, "You Can't Play with My Yo-Yo" and "What Can I Do?", both of which featured Ice Cube. The album was more of a critical success than a commercial one, but it is usually considered to be one of the best female hip-hop albums of all time.
