State Route 225 is part of Maine's system of numbered state highways, located almost entirely in the town of Rome. It is a short secondary highway which runs for 5.65 miles (9.09 km). SR 225 begins at an intersection with State Route 27 in Rome and is the main road for the town. The easternmost section of the route is within the town of Smithfield, with its terminus located at an intersection with State Routes 8 and 137.
SR 225 begins at SR 27 west of Rome, and proceeds east into the town, serving as its main road. The route continues due east, crossing into Smithfield and ending at SR 8/SR 137 south of town. SR 225 is named Rome Road for its entire length.
