Maharani Ajabde Punwar was the chief wife or Maharani of Maharana Pratap, the ruler of Mewar. She was born to Rao Mamrakh Punwar, a noble of Mewar in 1542. Maharana Pratap and Maharani Ajabde married in 1557 when she was 15 and Maharana Pratap was 17. Amar Singh I, the successor of Maharana Pratap, was born to Maharani Ajabde two years after their marriage in 1559. She was the great support to Maharana Pratap. Maharana Pratap loved her throughout his life. She was the shadow of Maharani Jaiwanta Bai, mother of Maharana Pratap. Maharani Ajabde always looked up to Maharana Pratap's mother Maharani Jaiwanta Bai. Maharani Ajabde had one more son, Bhagwan Dass.

Maharani Ajabde died after the Battle of Haldighati (1576) due to an injury. That was the biggest shock for Maharana Pratap. After her death Pratap used to engage most of his time in Rajpath and leisure time he spent with his most beloved son Amar Singh, his mother Maharani Jaiwanta Bai and his best friend and 5th wife Maharani Phool Kanwar. After the death of Ajabde, Pratap left Udaipur and shifted towards Chavand and also made the Chavand his new capital.
