The Madagascan hoopoe (Upupa marginata) is a species of hoopoe in the family Upupidae. Previously considered a subspecies (Upupa epops marginata) of the hoopoe, due to its vocalisations and small differences in plumage, but it is otherwise similar to the rest of the species.
It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests.
