Machida Station (町田駅 Machida-eki?) is a railway station on the Yokohama Line in Machida, Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
The station is located adjacent to Machida Station on the Odakyu Odawara Line.
Machida Station is served by the Yokohama Line from Hachiōji to Higashi-Kanagawa.It is located 22.9 kilometers from the terminus of the line at Higashi-Kanagawa.
Machida Station has two island platforms serving four tracks, with the station building located above and perpendicular to the platforms. The station has a "Midori no Madoguchi" staffed ticket office.
The station first opened as Haramachida Station (原町田駅?) on September 23, 1908. The station was moved 0.4 km toward Hachiōji and renamed Machida on April 1, 1980 to reduce the walking distance between it and Shin-Haramachida Station (now Machida Station) on the Odakyu Odawara Line from 700 m to 300 m.
In fiscal 2014, the station was used by an average of 110,233 passengers daily (boarding passengers only), making it the 28th-busiest station operated by JR East.
