Lyons is a city in Toombs County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,367 at the 2010 census, up from 4,169 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Toombs County.

Lyons is part of the Vidalia Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Lyons was founded about 1890 as a depot on the Central of Georgia Railway. In 1905, Lyons was designated seat of the newly formed Toombs County.

Lyons is located at 32°12′15″N 82°19′22″W / 32.20417°N 82.32278°W / 32.20417; -82.32278 (32.204287, -82.322732).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.5 square miles (19 km2), of which, 7.5 square miles (19 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) of it (0.53%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4,169 people, 1,547 households, and 986 families residing in the city. The population density was 557.1 people per square mile (215.2/km²). There were 1,787 housing units at an average density of 238.8 per square mile (92.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 59.25% White, 32.38% African American, 0.36% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 7.22% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.06% of the population.
