Lynn Sanford Nance (born September 3, 1942) was a head basketball coach at the University of Washington. He also served as head coach at St. Mary's College (CA), Iowa State, Central Missouri State, and Southwest Baptist University. He is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. He played college basketball at the University of Washington, and became an honorable mention all-American. Nance went on to be selected in the fourth round of the 1965 NBA draft by the St. Louis Hawks. Unfortunately, a knee injury ended his professional career before he ever played a game for St. Louis.
During his tenure at Division II Central Missouri State, he won a national championship. He was also an assistant coach at the University of Kentucky, and Fresno State. His total 19-year-Division I and II head coaching mark is 302-224.
Aside from his career as a coach, Nance also served as a special agent for the FBI, as well as working as an assistant director for the NCAA. Nance drew upon his experience as an FBI agent to write a novel titled Bridger:Deadly Peril.
