Primary School
Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill is a French international school that was opened in 2015 in Wembley Park, Wembley, north-west London, United Kingdom. It welcomes students from Year 1 (Grande Section) to Year 13 (Terminale) and prepares them for the French Baccalauréat diploma in the three general tracks of S, ES and L. The school also offers the British international option (OIB - Option Internationale du Baccalauréat).
Registered charity number 1160719, the Lycée is located in the Grade II listed (UK) former building of the Brent Town Hall.
The Lycée International of Londres Winston Churchill is an independent school founded by the French Education Charitable Trust in 2015. It joins the growing worldwide network of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), a government agency overseen by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.
It was named Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill on Saturday 24 January to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the former British Prime Minister’s death, on 24 January 1965. The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill opened its doors to its first group of students in September 2015.
In a ceremony attended by French President François Hollande, the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill was inaugurated in September 2015.
In June 2018, the first graduating class took the French Baccalaureate. This followed the school recording strong admission statistics, with 92% of applicants to the UK gaining admission to a Russell Group university.
The French national curriculum provides the core of a bilingual international programme. Their students have the opportunity to sit for the French Baccalauréat in the Sciences, Social Sciences or Literature paths, with or without the International Option (Option Internationale du Baccalauréat - OIB). They are also now an IB Diploma Programme candidate school and will be offering a new English International Programme starting from Year 7 in September 2018.
