The National Parks of Albania make up a network of 15 national parks covering a surface area of 210,668.48 hectares (2,106.6848 km2) or roughly 13.65% of the overall territory. The nation host also 8 archaeological parks covering a surface area of 1,120 hectares (11.2 km2).
The parks are managed by the Ministry of Environment and the National Parks of Albania government agency (Albanian: Agjencia Kombëtare e Zonave të Mbrojtura.).
One of the country's most well-known national parks, Butrint, was included in UNESCO's list of world heritage sites in 1992. Recently, british newspaper The Guardian in one of its articles named Butrint one of the top 10 must see national parks in Europe.
