List of most visited museums

This article lists the most visited museums in the world, including museums of art, science, history, and natural history. It includes only museums with an attendance of more than one million visitors a year. it is based on 2016 visitor numbers reported in the Museum Index of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and the engineering firm AECOM (June 2017); the Art Newspaper Review Visitor Figures 2016 (April, 2017) and, in the UK, the annual survey of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA), the Paris Visitors and Convention Bureau, and other national sources.
