Although he is the only one of the group without any superpowers, by virtue of his heroic experience and reputation, Robin is the highly disciplined leader of the Teen Titans. As elaborated upon in the "Go" episode, Robin forms the group after aiding Starfire in her escape from captivity, with the help of Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven. Prior to this, he admits to joined his mentors, Batman, and Batgirl (though directly by name), in an effort to make it on their own as a crime-fighters.

Like his mentor, he relies on his amazing martial arts skills and agility honed through intensive training; his main source of power comes from his large range of weapons, including the Birdarangs, discus grenades, and a modified multi-purpose battle staff. He wears a black-and-yellow cape, a red shirt-like top with green sleeves, three yellow strips going down his red top added with his capital "R" symbol adorned on its left breast, a yellow utility belt, green gloves and leggings, black boots with steel accents, and a one-piece black eye mask.

Apart from his relentless courage and discipline, he has had romantic feelings for Starfire ever since they first met. Even though he tries to hide his feelings, they are obvious to the rest of the Titans, and even a few enemies are aware.

Eventually, Robin and Starfire finally confess their love in the series finale movie Teen Titans: Trouble In Tokyo.

Starfire (as translated into English) is a humanoid alien female from a planet called Tamaran. As learned in the episode "Betrothed," her real name and title is Princess Koriand'r. In the events of "Go," Starfire arrives on Earth while escaping captivity from Lord Trogaar, an alien overlord intending to sell her into slavery to what she calls "The Citadel." She creates mass havoc on an Earth city in an effort to break free from her restraints, arousing the ire of crime-fighters Robin, Beast Boy and Cyborg. Raven later appears to convince the boys to settle the dispute peacefully, and the friendship between the five grows from there. After dispatching the alien invaders, Starfire chooses to stay on Earth with her newfound friends.
