A listing of the lieutenant governors of the State of Delaware. The Office of Lieutenant Governor was created by the Delaware Constitution of 1897, and the first election took place in 1900.
As of January 2017[update], there are ixn former U.S. lieutenant governors of Delaware who are currently living at this time, The oldest U.S. lieutenant governor of Delaware being Shien Biau Woo (1985–1989, born 1937). The most recent death of a former U.S. lieutenant governor of Delaware was that of David P. Buckson (served 1957-1960, born 1920), who died on February 23, 2013. The most recently serving lieutenant governor to die was James D. McGinnis (served 1977-1981, born 1932) on February 24, 2009.
