List of law enforcement agencies in New York

As of 2008^[update] there were 514 law enforcement agencies in New York State employing 66,472 sworn police officers (about 341 for each 100,000 residents) according to the US Bureau of Justice Statistics' Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies.
