List of current United States governors

The following is a list of incumbent governors of the states and territories of the United States as well as the mayoralty of the District of Columbia. Among the states, there are 33 Republicans, 16 Democrats, and 1 independent that hold the office of governor. Additionally, Ricky Rosselló is registered with the New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico but nationally affiliated as a Democrat. The mayor of the District of Columbia, Muriel Bowser, is a Democrat.

The current term ends in January of the given year for every state except for Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota and Kentucky, where the term ends in December of that year's election. The notation (term limits) after the year indicates that the current governor is ineligible to seek re-election in that year; the notation (retiring) indicates that the current governor has announced their intention not to seek re-election at the end of the term or to run for another office.
