This is a list of the largest communities in Manitoba, according to the 2016 Census of Canada (and Statistics Canada), with populations of 1,000 persons or over. This list excludes all "rural municipalities" and other "municipalities"/"districts" in Manitoba, since they are not considered "urban communities," but includes all cities, towns, villages, northern communities, designated places and local urban districts, population centres, and Indian reserves (First Nations) with a population of at least 1,000.
Note, many of these communities have other bordering communities such as Indian reserves and local urban districts (LUDs) by the same name - these sub-communities are listed along with the largest community of that name (i.e. Lorette (population centre, LUD), Norway House (Indian reserve, northern community), etc.).
Population centres refers to an area with a population of at least 1,000 and a density of 400 or more people per square kilometre.
