Ever since its foundation on 28 February 1904, Portuguese sports club Sport Lisboa e Benfica has had a total of 33 presidents. The club's first president was José Rosa Rodrigues and the current one is Luís Filipe Vieira; the latter surpassed Bento Mântua as president with more days in charge of the club. To elect a president, the paying members of Benfica (sócios) vote in the club elections, which are held every four years.
