Power Rangers Ninja Steel is an American television series created by Haim Saban and Toei Company. It is the twenty-fourth season overall of the Power Rangers television franchise. It began airing on January 21, 2017, on Nickelodeon, two months before the release of the 2017 film Power Rangers.
10 years ago, the mythical Ninja Nexus Prism containing the Ninja Nexus Star crash-landed on Earth in the backyard of Ninja Master Dane Romero and his 2 sons, Brody and Aiden. A vicious monster called Galvanax and his associates arrive to take the star, but Dane was able to destroy it by smashing it while Aiden escaped with the Ninja Steel, fragments of the Nexus's metallic coating. Dane vanished afterwards, while the broken star fragments returned to the Nexus and formed 6 Ninja Power Stars. Galvanax took the Nexus and Brody prisoner.
In the present day, Brody is a prisoner on Galvanax's ship, a stage for Galaxy Warriors: the victor of each match tries to remove a Power Star, so far to no avail. Realizing the ship is in Earth's orbit, Brody and his friends Redbot and Mick steal the Nexus and escape through the trash, landing on Earth but getting separated. Meanwhile, at Summer Cove High, new girl Sarah befriends hopeful magician Preston, where they both witness something falling from the sky. Investigating, they find Brody being attacked by a monster sent by Galvanax to retrieve the Nexus and Power Stars. Brody's datacom link to the ship suggests they need to work together to defeat him. Finding themselves drawn to the Nexus, Brody, Preston and Sarah remove the Red, Blue and Pink Power Stars from the prism, and are able to transform into Power Rangers. Utilising their weapons, they make short work of the monster.
Calvin, his girlfriend Hayley and her dog Cody are caught in the downfall of the trash ejected by Brody's escape. They find Mick who quickly befriends them, and they take him to the school shop class to repair his datacom link to find Brody. There he meets Principal Hastings, who mistakes him for the new shop class teacher and promptly hires him.
Meanwhile, Brody takes Redbot, Preston and Sarah to his old house to find Aiden but can't. Brody tells them they must find a hidden box, used during their childhood training, where his brother likely buried the Ninja Steel, the metallic coating of the Nexus Prism. However they find the box is empty, except for a photo of the boys and their father when Dane won a trophy. Sarah realizes Aiden hid the Ninja Steel in plain sight: his father's trophy at the high school. Redbot then catches a BuzzCam, and realizes Galvanax was eavesdropping.
