List of Pakistani Twenty20 International cricketers


A Twenty20 International (T20I) is an international cricket match between two representative teams, each having T20I status, as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC), and is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. The first such match was played between Australia and New Zealand on 17 February 2005 which Australia won by 44 runs at Eden Park. As of 2017, seventy-four players have represented the Pakistan cricket team since their first match in 2006.

Pakistan played their first T20I match at the County Cricket Ground, Bristol, on 28 August 2006, against England, winning the match by five wickets. In terms of wins, Pakistan is the most successful team with 44 wins. In 2009, under the captaincy of Younis Khan, they won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, defeating Sri Lanka by eight wickets.Sarfraz Ahmed is the current team captain for T20Is.Shahid Afridi has captained the side more often—in 43 T20Is.

As of 2017, Afridi has made the most appearances for Pakistan in T20I, playing in 98 of these matches.Umar Akmal has scored the most runs in total, making 1,690 from 77 innings, and Afridi has taken the most number of wickets in T20I cricket, dismissing 97 batsmen over 63 matches.Ahmed Shehzad's score of 111 not out, made against Bangladesh in March 2014, is the highest total by a Pakistan batsman in T20I cricket.Umar Gul has the best bowling figures in an innings, 5 wickets for 6 runs, which he achieved against New Zealand during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20. He repeated the similar performance against South Africa at SuperSport Park in March 2013.Kamran Akmal holds the record for the most number of dismissals for Pakistan with 60, second overall behind MS Dhoni. Umar Akmal has taken 38 catches which are the most by a Pakistani fielder.
