List of British Film Institute releases

The British Film Institute have over the years released a number of historically important films, short films and documentaries, some of which may never have otherwise been released. This includes the Flipside releases which are releases of British films that have not been released previously. There have been a number of re-issues of certain titles, including dual format releases that contain both the DVD and Blu-ray.

These are all preceded by the catalogue code BFIDVD, e.g. BFIDVD501

Where a title has been released on DVD but has now been superseded by a new DVD release or dual format release, this will be indicated after the titles below.

These are all preceded by the catalogue code BFIB, e.g. BFIB1033

All titles are dual format titles unless where stated

The BFI have said that where a suitable master exists they will release titles on dual format Blu-ray/DVD, otherwise the titles will receive a DVD only release. There are a number of titles that have had separate DVD and Blu-ray releases. These have now been deleted and are now available in dual format releases. There are a number of other titles that will also be combined to dual format releases during 2012
