Brett McLaughlin, known professionally as Leland, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, composer and lecturer. Based in Los Angeles, California, he has worked closely with a range of popular artists, including Troye Sivan, Daya, Selena Gomez, Andy Grammer, Kelsea Ballerini and Allie X.

McLaughlin was a professor at the Musicians Institute, where he taught songwriting and artist development. In 2015 he joined the founding team of Global Image Music, a new music program offering real–time experience for aspiring songwriters and producers founded by British–American songwriter James 'JHart' Abrahart.
