Leaderboard Golf Ltd was founded by Paul Gibbons in 1998. Gibbons learnt of the availability of Sandford Springs Golf Club in Kingsclere during a golf lesson and subsequently negotiated the purchase using the Enterprise Investment Scheme.
Since the purchase of Sandford Springs Leaderboard Golf Ltd has acquired several courses (listed above) as well as improving their online presence with the introduction of their website in 2011.
Leaderboard has also been dedicated to redevelopment upon purchase, improving the facilities to ensure that they are among the very best venues in their respective regions.
Gibbons has suggested that Leaderboard is unlikely to invest in the purchase of any new courses in the near future.
Leaderboard are known for supporting charitable causes and introducing people who may not otherwise get the opportunity to play golf. In 2011, every Leaderboard club gave all junior members aged between eight and 18 free golf membership, annual subscriptions and even free monthly golf tuition.
Gibbons’ wife Jennifer is on the Leaderboard Ltd board of directors and is credited with having a significant role in the decision making process and maintenance of the Leaderboard brand.
