According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land. Famous for oil and gas production, wheat and cattle.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,097 people, 503 households, and 303 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,473.2 people per square mile (572.4/km²).
