Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Scroll

Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Scroll is an animated short film in the Kung Fu Panda film series. It was included on the 2015 Digital HD and 2016 Blu-ray, and DVD re-release of Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2.

Jack Black, James Hong, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Randall Duk Kim and Lucy Liu reprise their roles from the movies, while Kari Wahlgren and James Sie replace Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan as Tigress and Monkey, respectively.

The introduction, which takes place a bit before Kung Fu Panda 3, shows Po realizing that his dad, Mr Ping, has given away his toys as bonus gifts to customers who go to his restaurant, leading Po to go find his toys of the Furious Five.

10 years before the events of the first Kung Fu Panda, a younger yet trained Tigress who is novice of Shifu and would always disappoint him. When Master Oogway and Shifu order a soup from Mister Ping's restaurant, a young Po (who was left in charge of the restaurant) accidentally makes a soup with boogers for Shifu, thus making him sick. What is even worse, a strong criminal named Boar is coming to China to destroy the town. Shifu has no choice but to give the assignment of getting the warriors to Tigress and gives her a scroll to find the four assigned heroes. Po at the same time does a scroll for possible ideas for his future career. Tigress accidentally loses her scroll and mistakes Po's scroll for hers. Po's scroll contains the names of "Cleaner", "Comedian", "Dancer", and "Doctor". This causes Tigress to assign Cleaner Crane, Comedian Monkey, Dancer Viper, and Doctor Mantis. However once Tigress and the team go back, Shifu gets really upset at Tigress for the mistake. Tigress gets disappointed and sad of herself, but Oogway encourages her to be herself, so she decides to confront Boar and at first she is defeated, but gets helped by the team and the five defeat Boar, with Po watching the fight and thus getting the amazement he has to Kung Fu to this day. Shifu finally gets proud of the five and decides to let them train inside the training room.
