Knobhead


Knobhead (77°55′S 161°34′E / 77.917°S 161.567°E / -77.917; 161.567Coordinates: 77°55′S 161°34′E / 77.917°S 161.567°E / -77.917; 161.567) is a massive ice-free mountain, 2,400 metres (7,900 ft) high, standing south of the western end of the Kukri Hills and overlooking Ferrar Glacier and Taylor Glacier at their point of apposition, in Victoria Land, Antarctica. It was discovered by the British National Antarctic Expedition (1901–04) and so named because of its appearance.
