Kirsty Clements is a fictional character from the BBC medical drama Casualty, played by Lucy Gaskell. She first appeared in the twenty-fourth series episode "Russian Endings", broadcast on 15 May 2010. Kirsty is a staff nurse in Holby City Hospital's emergency department (ED). Gaskell was asked to audition for the role of Kirsty by show producers, where she was told about the character's storylines. The actress' audition was successful and she later shadowed ED nurses at a local hospital as preparation for the role.

Kirsty is characterised as a strong, independent and feisty nurse, who tries to do the best for her patients. Her ability to form relationships with others helps Kirsty develop close friendships with her colleagues, notably Adam Trueman (Tristan Gemmill), although Kirsty's brash personality also made her clash with others. The character's backstory and home life was explored, with Stephen Lord cast as Kirsty's husband, Warren Clements, and Holly Earl cast as their daughter Nita Clements.

The show used the characters of Kirsty and Warren to highlight the issue of domestic violence as it is revealed that Warren abuses Kirsty. Gaskell wanted to portray several aspects to the storyline and worked alongside producers to raise awareness for the issue. She contacted domestic abuse charities and spoke to abuse victims as research for the storyline. Producers created a twist when after Warren catches Kirsty leaving him and attacks her, he is left unconscious at the bottom of the staircase. After a confrontation with Kirsty, Warren dies and Nita later confesses to causing her father's injuries.

Gaskell quit her role after a year of filming with the show, with Kirsty's departure concluding her domestic abuse storyline. Producers decided to create a positive exit for the character and on-screen, Kirsty decides to leave Holby with Nita after she is motivated to create happier memories for herself. The actress found her character's exit liberating and was pleased with her final scenes. The character departed in the twenty-fifth series episode "When You're Smiling", broadcast on 30 July 2011.
