Kiowa is located at 34°43′21″N 95°54′12″W / 34.72250°N 95.90333°W (34.722460, -95.903349). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 693 people, 293 households, and 200 families residing in the town. The population density was 538.3 people per square mile (207.4/km²). There were 335 housing units at an average density of 260.2 per square mile (100.3/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 75.1% White, 14.2% Native American, and 6.8% from two or more races, 0.3% African American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.6% of the population.
There were 293 households out of which 28.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.0% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
