Kimberly Nichole is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She came to national attention in 2015 for her competing on season eight of NBC's reality competition series The Voice, placing sixth place.
Nichole was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She started singing as a toddler and learned to play the clarinet at age 10. She starting writing her own songs during her teenage years and pursued a degree in economics and human resources at Georgia's Spelman College.
Nichole grew up listening to gospel and soul music played by her parents. She later got involved in rock'n roll type of music. Because of this, Nichole has often been called "The Mistress of Madness" by several other artists.
To pursue her career, Nichole moved to New York City. She started performing at the private night club The Box with a band that she had formed. She has shared the stage with several artists including Aloe Blacc and Janelle Monáe. Nichole recorded a nine-track album called Yellow Brick Journey and a four-track EP cover called Rock Ballerina. Because of this, Nichole has been known for her incredible amount of success as an artist with no agents. Nichole was then found by fashion savant Andre Leon, who featured her in Seventeen Magazine. Nichole and her band will release a new album called The Lonely Bones soon. She has built her career leveraging shows at the Apollo Theater.
Nichole's music has been featured on several television networks including MTV, VH1, BET, LOGO, Lifetime and Showtime.
