Kim Jin-woo (born September 26, 1991), better known mononymously Jinwoo, is a South Korean singer and actor. He is the lead vocalist of the South Korean boy group Winner, formed in 2013 by YG Entertainment through the survival show WIN: Who Is Next.
Jinwoo was born on September 26, 1991 in Imja-do, Sinan County, South Jeolla. He was scouted by Seungri of K-pop boy band Big Bang, who was impressed by his dancing and decided to bring him to YG. Following the scouting, he became a trainee at YG Entertainment in 2010. He was a backup dancer at the 2011 YG Family Concert, alongside fellow group member Taehyun. Following the survival program WIN: Who Is Next, Jinwoo debuted in the boy band Winner in 2014, along with Nam Tae-hyun, Kang Seung-yoon, Mino and Lee Seung-hoon. In Winner, Jinwoo fulfils the position of lead vocalist.
In 2016, Jinwoo made his acting debut in the web-drama Magic Cellphone.
In November 2016, Jinwoo was announced as the lead in the production of The Little Prince by the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company. He is the first K-pop idol to be part of contemporary dance production. He then starred in the web drama Love For A Thousand More alongside fellow member Seungyoon. The web drama is a joint production of CJ E&M, YG Entertainment, and YGKPlus.
