Kentucky Route 263 (KY 263) is a south-north state highway running through central and northwest Warren County. It provides access to the community of Richardsville, as well as the northwestern corner of Warren County.
KY 263 begins at a junction with KY 185, known locally as Richardsville Road. The route enters the community of Richardsville almost immediately after it begins, winding through the center of the community.
KY 263 then continues on a winding, elevated path in a northwestern direction for 3.2 miles before coming to a junction with the eastern terminus of KY 2631. Following this junction, KY 263 continues for 4.7 miles before entering the Riverside community.
At Riverside, KY 263 splits to the west. Past this point, the route becomes considerably narrower for the rest of its length and lacks painted lines and dividers. KY 263 continues on a curvy path in a western direction through woodlands for another 2.3 miles before coming to a junction with the western terminus of KY 2631.
Following this junction, KY 263 splits once again, in a new northern direction. The route then continues on for another 4.1 miles before reaching its northern terminus at Old Morgantown-Glasgow road in extreme northwestern Warren County.
KY 263 formerly connected to the Woodbury area in Butler County, Kentucky via a toll ferry across the Barren River near its confluence with the Green River. Once entering Butler County, KY 263 went further west into Woodbury, and then followed a path that ended at an intersection with Kentucky Route 71 (now US Route 231). KY 263's original course in Butler County totaled 4.1 miles (6.6 km), while its original course in Warren County totaled 14.4 miles (23.2 km). The ferry was decommissioned sometime in 1963. After the ferry was discontinued, KY 263's western terminus was relocated to the Richardsville Road intersection with Ridge Road, with the final 1.5 miles (2.4 km) on the Warren County side of the river reverting to county maintenance. Kentucky Route 403 now runs much of KY 263's original path in Butler County, mainly from downtown Woodbury to the US 231 junction, except for the Woodbury Ferry Road, which is maintained by the Butler County Road Department.
