Katy Tiz is a British pop singer-songwriter who gained mainstream acknowledgement after releasing her cover of Rock Mafia's single "The Big Bang" in 2014. Tiz became the first unsigned artist to be declared 'On the Verge' by Clear Channel/iHeartRadio, and "The Big Bang" subsequently entered Billboard's Hot 100 chart, iTunes' Top 100, and Shazam's 'Top 100 USA'. The success led to her signing a recording contract with Atlantic Records.
Following the success of her debut single Tiz released a second single called "Whistle (While You Work It)". Following the single's release the one charted at Number 14 on the New Zealand charts; the song has also achieved over 5,590,000 as of September 2016."Whistle" has also gained a gold certificate in New Zealand under the RMNZ. Tiz's second single also achieved success in the United States charting at Number 24 on the Mainstream Top 40 besting Tiz's previous song which charted at Number 26. Alongside this success Tiz gained success from her second single due to the fact that the song charted within the Top 50 on the Australian Charts. Due to the success of her second single Tz has toured large parts of America with he tour beginning on 20 June in Philadelphia and ending on 31 July in Seattle. As a follow-up single Tiz released the song "Samurai" on 16 September 2016.
Katy Tiz was born on July 6, 1988. In late 2012, she was signed to Lava/Republic, and Warner/Chappell Publishing, and released three stand-alone singles, "Famous", "Heart" and "Red Cup".
Shortly after parting ways with Lava/Republic in 2013, Tiz partnered with songwriting/production duo Rock Mafia. Tiz released a cover of Rock Mafia's popular song "The Big Bang", which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on May 17, 2014.
