The Kapor Center for Social Impact is an Oakland-based organization that pursues creative strategies to help diversify the tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem. It is part of the Kapor family of organizations aimed at "removing barriers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education and tech careers for underrepresented people of color", and making Oakland "the epicenter of social impact startups developing tech-based solutions to real world problems", ultimately promoting a more accessible, inclusive, and diverse tech economy.
The Kapor Center for Social Impact is currently co-chaired by Mitch Kapor and Freada Kapor Klein.
In April 2016, the Kapor Center for Social Impact inaugurated a new building in uptown Oakland, serving as a "convening space for the region's tech and social justice communities."
