Kalayaan College (or KC) is a private, four-year college formerly located in Marikina City that has since moved to Quezon City. It was established in 2000 and is accredited by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education.
Kalayaan College is on Manga Road cor Aurora Blvd, near the LRT station of Betty-Go Belmonte. It was established by big names in academic institutions. The college's president, Dr. José V. Abueva, is a former president of the University of the Philippines.
The college follows UP's curriculum, such as the grading system for students (where 1.00 is the highest and 5.00 is the lowest or failing grade). Most of the professors are members of UP's faculty. Nowadays, new faculty members are UP graduates.
Kalayaan College's Bachelor in Science courses include Business Administration, Accountancy (a new course), Hotel and Restaurant Management (ladderized), Computer Science, and Psychology.
KC's Bachelor in the Arts courses include Psychology, Journalism, Literature, and Public Administration. There are two Psychology bachelor courses.
Kalayaan College has bachelor courses in Early Childhood Care and Development, Secondary Education (English), Fine Arts (Major/minor in Painting/Graphic Design), and Hotel and Restaurant Management (non-ladderized).
Kalayaan College offers Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Associate in Arts and Sciences, Associate in Computer Technology, Certificate in Childhood Care and Development, and Certificate in Fine Arts.
Kalayaan College offers short Hotel and Management courses which last only about two months: Housekeeping Services, Front Office Services, Food and Beverage Services, Commercial Cooking, and Bartending.
KC offers courses exclusively around April-May: College Entrance Exam Review, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Services, Bartending, Commercial Cooking, Front Office Procedures, Tour Guiding Services, and Travel Services.
