KBVU, virtual and UHF digital channel 28, is a Fox-affiliated television station located in Eureka, California, United States. The station is owned by Esteem Broadcasting and operated by Bonten Media Group through a local marketing agreement as part of a virtual duopoly with ABC affiliate KAEF-TV (channel 23), which is owned by Bonten, and is also sister to low-power CW and MyNetworkTV affiliate KECA-LD (channel 29). KBVU and KAEF share studios located along Sixth Street in downtown Eureka, and its transmitter is located along Berry Road west of Kneeland Airport. Although it identifies as a station in its own right, KBVU is considered a semi-satellite of KCVU (channel 20) in Paradise/Chico/Redding. While it shares studios with KAEF in Eureka, some internal operations are based at KCVU's studios along Auditorium Drive in Redding.
The station's digital signal is multiplexed:
KBVU shut down its analog signal, over UHF channel 29, on December 22, 2008, along with KCVU, due to lack of funding. The station's digital signal broadcasts on its pre-transition UHF channel 28.
