Joy is a tiny lunar crater located in the irregular ground just to the west of Mare Serenitatis. It is a circular, cup-shaped feature with a slightly raised rim.
West of the crater is the northern area of Montes Apenninus (Lunar Apennines), southwest is Aratus Crater.
The crater is named after Alfred Harrison Joy. It was designated Hadley A until it was renamed by the IAU.Mons Hadley lies to the west-northwest in the Montes Apenninus range.
