Josh One is an American producer and DJ.
Josh One is a DJ/Producer from Long Beach, CA. He gained much notoriety in the early 1990s and 2000s, sharing stages with the likes of: Mos Def, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Sean Paul, The Roots, Kelis, J Dilla, The Black Eyed Peas, Cypress Hill, Gangstarr, Anthony Hamilton.
Josh One's debut recording as a solo artist was "Contemplation" in 2001. The most popular remix of this was the King Britt "Funke Mix." It rose to the top of the European dance charts and going straight to #1 on the German dance charts. Soon to follow was his remix of the three time Grammy nominated & RIAA Platinum Nappy Roots "Po' Folks" on Atlantic Records. He also remixed the Fitz & The Tantrums "Out Of My League" which reached number one on Billboard's Alternative charts on September 30, 2013 on Atlantic Records.
His debut full-length album "Narrow Path" was released in 2004. The LP featured the vocal talents of Aloe Blacc and Myka 9 as well as the prolific downtempo instrumentals, "Narrow Path" and "Grey Skies." He has had multiple media placements in TV and film and the song "Grey Skies" was used for the premiere episode of CSI New York and an Acura TL commercial. His music has been featured in other media placements including: CSI New York, CSI Miami, CSI Vegas, VH1, MTV, ESPN and HBO.
