Colonel Joseph G. Clemons, Jr., United States Army was the First Lieutenant of Company K, 31st Infantry during the Korean War and led the counterattack on Pork Chop Hill. He was portrayed by Gregory Peck in the 1959 movie Pork Chop Hill and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for his heroism. Later in his service, he rose to the rank of Colonel and became the commander of 198th Infantry Brigade in 1969. He graduated from West Point in 1951 and was awarded the Distinguished Graduate Award in 2007 by the Association of Graduates USMA.
