José Zapata (15 September 1970) is a baseball manager who works in the Boston Red Sox Minor League system. He was born in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic.

Zapata is the currently Latin American field coordinator for the Red Sox and also manages their Dominican Summer League rookie club, as he has held both roles for the organization since 2007. During this time, Zapata has earned respect for developing his young players on to the next level.

Previously, Zapata played in the minors for the Montreal Expos from 1991 through 1993 and later began his coaching career with eight seasons in the Expos organization. He then joined the Florida Marlins in 2002, serving for them as the hitting coach for the Class A Kane County Cougars and the Short-Season A Jamestown Jammers, being later promoted to manage the Dominican Summer League Marlins, a position he held until 2006.

Since joining the DSL Red Sox, Zapata has led the club to eight consecutive winning seasons from 2007 to 2014, including two division titles in 2013 and 2014, while posting a mark of 46–42 and a team record of 50–19, respectively.

Besides, his guide has been fundamental in the development of Red Sox teenage prospects as Xander Bogaerts, César Cabral, Rafael Devers, Manuel Margot, Román Méndez and Stolmy Pimentel.
