John Humphrey Plummer Professor of Theoretical Chemistry

The John Humphrey Plummer Professorship of Theoretical Chemistry was established in 1932 from a bequest of £200,000 under the will of John Humphrey Plummer, an estate agent of Southport, to the University of Cambridge for the advancement of science. The title of the professorship was originally inorganic chemistry, but was changed in 1932 to theoretical chemistry.

The professorship was discontinued in 1968.
