John William DiMaggio (born September 4, 1968) is an American actor, voice artist and comedian, known for his gruff voice, and for his work as Bender from the television show Futurama, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time, and Marcus Fenix in the hit Xbox video game Gears Of War. Other voice-over roles of his include Dr. Drakken and Motor Ed on Kim Possible, Brother Blood on Teen Titans, Rico in The Penguins of Madagascar, Fu Dog and Ogre In American Dragon: Jake Long, Niblet on Pound Puppies, and as the voice of Shnitzel on Chowder.
A native of North Plainfield, New Jersey, DiMaggio currently lives in Los Angeles, California. He is married to voice actress Kate Miller.
DiMaggio is known for his role as Bender on Futurama, as well as playing such roles as Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War franchise, Dr. Drakken on Kim Possible, Jake the Dog on Adventure Time, and Niblet on Pound Puppies (2010). He is a former comedian, appearing on stage as part of a comic duo named "Red Johnny and the Round Guy" and has several on-screen credits, such as Steve Ballmer in Pirates of Silicon Valley (the docudrama about the history of Apple Computer and Microsoft) and as the recurring character Dr. Sean Underhill on Chicago Hope. DiMaggio is also the executive producer and narrator of I Know That Voice, a documentary about the world of voice acting, along with producer Tommy Reid and director Lawrence Shapiro.
