Jogu Ramanna started his political career as a Sarpanch for Deepaiguda village,MPTC for Jainath and ZPTC Also.Is an M.L.A from Adilabad assembly constituency for 2nd Time. He raised a banner of revolt on Telangana statehood against the party president Chandrababu Naidu by aligning himself with Nagam Janardhan Reddy.
He joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi on 10 October 2011 and In 2014 Telangana Assembly Election he was re-elected from Adilabad Assembly constituency.He was inducted into Cabinet on June 2, 2014 and made Forest Environment & BC Welfare Minister of Telangana.
