Joaquin Arambula is an American politician currently serving in the California State Assembly. He is a Democrat representing the 31st Assembly District, which encompasses southern and western Fresno County.
Arambula was elected to the Assembly in a 2016 special election to replace former Assemblymember Henry Perea, who resigned to work as a lobbyist for PhRMA.
Arambula is a member of the California Latino Legislative Caucus. Before being elected to the Assembly, he was an emergency room physician. He is the son of former Assemblymember Juan Arambula.
When Joaquin Arambula was in Fresno during a Christmas break from college on the East Coast, he was stopped and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol. His blood-alcohol level was 0.15 percent, nearly twice California’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.
